Product Review- Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick

Hey Makeup Lovers,

I’m so excited to share the product review of another one of Bobbi Brown’s iconic products. the first review that I had done (also my first ever blog post) was of the Shimmer Brick from Bobbi Brown. What I love about Bobbi Brown’s shimmer brick is that it was their most famous product even when half the world didn’t even know what Highlighting is and how to give a Lit from within glow to your face. Now, what’s what I call Thinking Ahead.

Anyway, back to the foundation Stick. As a Makeup Artist, I first experimented with Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in the form of a professional palette. That gave me access to ALL of the shades at once along with their concealers and correctors. After using the foundation stick palette over hundreds of clients, I thought of investing in the stick for my personal use. so here is my professional and personal review of the stick.

Packaging– Bobbi Brown’s Foundation stick comes in a sleek packaging in their signature black case. The size isn’t too small or too large, which makes it perfect for traveling and for everyday use. it’s about the size of an Apple TV remote, only rounder. the full-size product is 9 grams

Pricing-Bobbi Brown’s cosmetics are priced on the higher side and that has a lot to do with their ingredient quality and Brand Positioning. I feel that it does full justice to its price because of the quantity that it packs in. More about it in the formulation & usage section. The price is $47 (₹ 4250/-). Here is a snapshot of the foundation stick of Bobbi Brown In comparison to other similar brands- Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation Stick (12 g, ₹3900/-), Smashbox Studio Skin Shaping Foundation and Soft Contour Stick (7.5 g, ₹3250/-). Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick (15 g, ₹5900/-).

Coverage– Coverage of the foundation is one of the major factors to consider while investing in the product. For that, one needs to first take into account the purpose of buying a foundation-

  • Do you need a foundation for everyday use or occasional use?
  • Do you need a full coverage foundation or just a tad bit of correction and enhancement of skin?
  • How often will you apply the foundation during the day? the frequency of touch-ups must be considered.

While doing makeup on my clients, I tend to apply foundation in layers, depending on their skin type and while applying on myself, I like a Sheel glow. I use Bobbi Brown’s Pore Perfector on my pore prone areas and then top it up with a sheer glow Primer from Chanel or Charlotte Tilbury. I like to apply this foundation with my fingers to give a natural finish.

VERDICT– Bobbi Brown’s Foundation Stick is a Buildable coverage foundation. This means that you can go full throttle or just add a dash of it to your face for the sheer glow. For this very reason, the foundation stick is a great option. It’s versatile and customizable finish makes it a fantastic option for every day as well as occasional application. Secondly, the formulation is such that it can be used on all skin types that range between normal to oily and normal to dry. For extremely oily or dry skins, one might need to find skin type-specific products.

All things Considered, the Bobbi Brown foundation stick is an amazing option for everyone. Sometimes people tend to buy 2 foundations for different coverage and sometimes for different seasons. Bobbi Brown’s foundation stick saves all that hassle and money because of all-season, customizable courage, and all skin type features. So, when you look at this way, the price isn’t too high after all! The only slight limitation with this product would be the frequency of application. If you are looking for a foundation that enables frequent touch-ups during the day then a Powder formulation would be your best bet.

hope you found this post helpful.

Cheers!
